VRSA celebrates its patroness with procession, music and fireworks

Popular games, concerts, dancing, sporting events, fireworks and the traditional procession. From the 27th of August to the 1st of September, Vila Real de Santo António celebrates the festival in honor of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, patron saint of the city.

The program starts on the 27th, Tuesday, with the group «Duo Reflexo», while on the 28th, the evening will be animated by the formation “La Famiglia”.

On the 29th, the dance rhythms of the group “Idade de Ouro” and the band “Olho's 4” compose the festivities, from 22 pm onwards.

On Friday, the 30th, the Academia de Ballet Contemporâneo takes to the stage at 21 pm, followed by a concert by the “Al Guitar Duo” formation at 30 pm. On Saturday, the party venue, at Praça Marquês de Pombal, Fábio Lagarto.

The high point of the pilgrimage takes place on Sunday, the 1st of September. After the popular games and rowboat races, which will take place from 10:00 am, at the headquarters of the Fishermen's Association of VRSA, at 18:00 there is a traditional procession and tribute of fishermen in honor of Our Lady of Encarnação, whose procession will travel through the main arteries of Vila Real de Santo António.

On Sunday night, at 22 pm, at Praça Marquês de Pombal, attention is focused on the concert by the Ganda Banda formation, which promises a night full of color, light and sound.

The poster ends with a firework show at midnight on Avenida da República, next to the Guadiana River.

The festivals in honor of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação are organized by the local parish, the Municipality of VRSA and the Parish Council of VRSA and are supported by the Santo António de Arenilha Fishermen's Association.
