The Vila do Bispo Chamber will distribute more than 54 thousand euros in support for athletes and sports entities.
This amount will be allocated, in six cases, following sponsorship contracts and, in four others, under collaboration protocols.
Bodyboard, surf, windsurf, motocross, motorsport, duathlon, triathlon, paintball and trail running are the supported sports.
With these measures, Adelino Soares, mayor, intends to give “a clear signal of support to associations, athletes and sport in all its diversity”.
It is also at issue «the recognition of the results achieved by athletes, who, despite not being professionals, present a degree of excellence that deserves to be valued since they are also a vehicle for the promotion of sport in general and of the municipality in private”, according to the Chamber of Vila do Bispo.
