Seniors from the municipality of Olhão will be invited to meet Beja and Ferreira do Alentejo, in September and October, in another edition of the Senior Autumn Walks.
This initiative, which has been taking place for 16 years, «takes, at each edition, more than 600 citizens aged 60 or over to various destinations», explains the City Council of Olhão.
With two annual editions, in spring and autumn, «the tours are an opportunity for seniors in the municipality to visit other places, monuments and cultures, while living together and fighting isolation», adds the municipality.
This autumn, the Municipality of Olhão takes participants to the municipalities of Beja and Ferreira do Alentejo.
The tour starts with a visit to the Rainha D. Leonor Museum and the Beja Castle.
After lunch, and already in Ferreira do Alentejo, the seniors from Olhão will also have the opportunity to get to know Lagar Oliveira da Serra.
The tours take place on the 20th, 26th and 27th of September, and the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, 9, 10th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd and 24th of October.
Enrollments take place at the Parish Councils, each having a dedicated day. On the 2nd of September, entries will be in Moncarapacho, on the 3rd in Olhão, on the 4th in Quelfes, on the 5th in Fuzeta and on the 6th of September in Pechão, between 9:00 and 12:00.
