Blue Marlins, White Marlins, Tuna and Dorados are some of the species expected to take the hook in yet another National Championship and Tavira Offshore Classic 2019, a sport fishing tournament of Big Game Fishing scheduled for the 29th and 31st of August and 1st of September which will define which fishermen will represent our country in the 2020 World Cup.
The event, which will be based at the Vila Galé Albacora hotel, is organized by the Tavirense club and will feature Portuguese teams, but also from Spain, England, Angola and Sweden.
«Knowing the already long history of this tournament, not only the elite teams of our National Circuit of Big Game Fishing, as well as the classic teams that started 20 years ago. It is intended with this to create a spirit of fraternization, either during the competition, or afterwards in the most varied social events», according to the organizers of the initiative.
The competition model will be similar to that of recent years, but «adapted to the most current circumstances», namely the continuation of the National Circuit of Big Game Fishing, as it is in Tavira that the national champions and runners-up qualify. , who will represent Portugal in the 2020 World Cup, to be played in Senegal.
