There are 5,9 million for the new generation of Local Social Development Contracts

Applications can be submitted until the 7th of October

A tender with public funding of 5,9 million euros is open to support the actions foreseen in the 4th generation (4G) Local Social Development Contracts.

Interested entities that meet the eligibility conditions can submit their applications until 7 October.

According to the Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR), which manages the CRESC ALGARVE 2020 Operational Program, under which this competition is launched, the potential beneficiaries are 'non-profit private law entities selected by the City Council or by the Local Social Action Councils, among others».

This line of support aims to «promote the social inclusion of population groups that reveal higher levels of social fragility in a given territory, mobilizing for this purpose the integrated action of different agents and locally available resources, constituting an instrument to combat social exclusion strongly marked by a proximity intervention through local partnerships».

Applications must, according to CCDR Algarve, be structured in order to increase «the levels of social cohesion of the municipalities object of intervention», respond to the needs of population groups that in each territory show the most significant weaknesses, «strengthen the pooling of efforts between the public and private sector in the promotion and execution of projects” and “strengthen the link between the interventions to be developed and the different existing planning instruments with a municipal dimension”.

The allocation made available for these 36-month applications (which can be extended to 48 months) amounts to 5,9 million euros, 80% of which comes from the European Social Fund (ESF) and 20% from the National Public Contribution», he concluded the same entity.
