The Algarve athlete Diogo Marreiros won this Wednesday, the 28th of August, the Bronze medal in the 1 km race of the European Speed Skating Championships, which are taking place in the Spanish city of Pamplona.
The lacobrigense skater made a sprint spectacular, passing several athletes on the finish line after having to dodge a mess at the head of the pack. With a fantastic finish, in a spectacular split on skates, he reached third place on the podium.
The victory fell to the Italian Giuseppe Bramante, with a time of 1,19,126, being the 2nd place of Patxi Pela, Spain, with 1,19,212. Diogo Marreiros completed the podium, with a time of 1,19,236.
This Thursday is a day of rest, for tomorrow to start the European Road Championship.
