Some of these students are keen to attend the University of Algarve

300 secondary school students, many of them purposely coming from Brazil, participated in the summer courses at the University of Algarve, which started on the 1st and ended today, the 12th.

Over the course of two weeks, UAlg welcomed students from «almost all districts in Portugal», as well as from the main cities in Brazil, namely Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasília, Minas Gerais and Manaus.

«For many of these students, the Algarve dream is over, at least for now. For others, this course was the beginning of the adventure because, they liked it so much, that they promise to come back», according to the Algarve university.

This is the case of Maria Fernanda Lourenço Autran, who purposely came from Rio de Janeiro to attend UAlg's summer courses. “He learned about the initiative through social media and thought it would be an opportunity to explore. Portugal will be her preferred destination to pursue her studies and UAlg too”, according to UAlg, to whom the young woman said that “it was all wonderful”.

Luísa Gateira de Siqueira also came from Rio de Janeiro, after getting to know the initiative through the UAlg stand at “Portugal 360”, which took place in June, in Cidade das Artes, in Barra da Tijuca. «Portugal and UAlg also become part of your options for the future. This student “wants to take a course in Pharmaceutical Sciences and the decision to come to UAlg's summer courses was not by chance. Marina already feels “almost a UAlg student” because she is sure that in September she will be part of the Academy. This is the University he chose to pursue his studies, “so it made perfect sense to come to the summer courses”».
