Sul Informação integrates "Elections in Network 2019", which was created to accompany Legislative

Podcasts, independent, regional and academic media come together to cover the October ballot and scrutinize the proposals of those who want to be elected

Ten journalism projects came together with the aim of sharing the best they do and supporting each other in the informative treatment of the elections for the Assembly of the Republic, on October 6, 2019. 

A national follow-up made up of many regional realities whose objective is to bring together the leaders of the parties represented in Parliament for a great debate, as well as the organization of discussions with heads of list by district.

Network Elections 2019 is a project driven by podcast ask does not offend, by journalist Daniel Oliveira, through digital media Fumaça, Sul Informação e Middle Tagus, by the weeklies Leiria Newspaper e News and also for university projects RUM – University Radio of Minho, RUC – Radio University of Coimbra e University Radio of Beira Interior together with the Urbi et Orbi – University Journal of Beira Interior (coordinated by the Remedia.Lab – Regional Media Laboratory and Incubator).

The initiative was born with the purpose of giving a national dimension to regional problems, but also looking at the election of a new Parliament through the analysis and scrutiny of major themes, rather than coverage focused on campaign actions and rallies.

Each medium will have its own coverage and editorial line, but share relevant work from the partners in its distribution channels (audio, paper or video) and social networks. Maintaining the independence of the essays and the style of each project, the articles, interviews and debates produced over the next two months will be discussed and thought through together, in an idea of ​​peer validation.
