Lagos Guinness candidate Dom Rodrigo with 100 kilos

Largest Dom Rodrigo in the world will be presented on the 26th, at 18:00

The Municipality of Lagos will nominate a 100 kg Dom Rodrigo for the Guinness record. 

The production of the largest Dom Rodrigo in the world is scheduled for the 24th, 25th and 26th of July, with a presentation to the public on the 26th, from 18 pm, at the start of the XXXII Arte Doce Contest Fair.

In the production phase of Dom Rodrigo de Lagos, 8 local sweets will be involved who, for three days, will have the mission of making this sweet in a giant format, based on the most traditional recipe originating in the municipality and in the Convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo. The Guinness World Records representative will evaluate the entire process of making and assembling the cake with the tracing paper and the characteristic silver that surrounds it.

Now in its 32nd edition, the Arte Doce fair, which will take place at the Complexo Desportivo de Lagos, will feature a renovated environment and many new features, such as an invited region (Lower Alentejo) and a reorganized space with a total of 76 sweets, craft stands and taverns, as well as entertainment and concerts with great national artists.

Dom Rodrigo de Lagos has also been highlighted through his candidacy to the 7 Wonders of Portugal Sweets, RTP1 competition, voting through the number 760 107 136 (0,60€ + VAT) until the 16th of August, when the region's district final is issued.
