O new Cascade Wellness Resort, in Lagos, has just been officially opened, after two years of expansion and renovation work in terms of infrastructure and services. The investment was 7 million euros.
The resort, which is located near Ponta da Piedade, now offers its clients a set of infrastructures that include a hotel with 108 rooms and suites (with areas of around 45m2), 58 apartments and four villas, three restaurants and two bars , three swimming pools, one of which is sand, meeting rooms with capacity for 500 people, including a 350 m2 multipurpose room, and a kids club.
Cascade also has a spa with five treatment rooms and a heated pool, a gym with a full range of state-of-the-art equipment and two tennis courts. The two football fields, with the official measures required by FIFA, are one of the reasons why Cascade Wellness Resort has stood out the most.
In order to respond to the growing trend, an investment project totaling 7 million euros was carried out in the last two years. Part of this amount was the object of an application to Portugal 2020 that received funding approval.
The investment made included the expansion of the hotel's accommodation offer, increasing its capacity from 86 to 108 rooms and suites. For this purpose, not only was the Europe wing expanded, but the new Portugal wing was also built, with balconies facing the pool and the Atlantic.
At the same time, Cascade Wellness Resort also renewed its villas and apartments, with the entire interior of these units having been changed. The extensive area in which the resort is located, allows it to offer its clients independent villas with 4 bedrooms and private pool and T1 and T2 apartments with outdoor spaces and pools different from those of the hotel.
The resort's common areas and restaurants and bars also benefited from an intervention that allowed for an increase in the catering capacity, redefining gastronomic concepts and renewing the decoration of spaces and furniture.
The catering offer now includes a space for fine dining (Senses), a Portuguese brewery that focuses on regional products (Gastropub), a space dedicated to themed buffet dinners (Mundi) and a bar that offers a wide variety of cocktails.
In response to various requests for holding events, a Multipurpose Room was built, with an area of 350 m2 and capacity for 420 people.
O spa do resort was the subject of a refurbishment, in which the interiors were renewed and a set of top-of-the-range equipment was added. The heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath and ice fountain are also realities.
In addition to the interior areas, the Cascade Wellness Resort now has its exterior spaces renovated after the implementation of an integral landscaping requalification project that included around eight hectares of gardens in the development.
In view of the growing demand from professional football teams for internships and training, such as the Netherlands and Wales, a renovation of the football pitches has been initiated. At Cascade Wellness Resort, teams can use the Polyvalent Room exclusively for meals and meetings, as well as the gym and spa equipment.
Finally, as a result of a partnership with the Municipality of Lagos, Cascade Wellness Resort participated in the investment in the rehabilitation and enhancement of Ponta da Piedade. Resort clients can now count on a pedestrian path, which runs off the resort and extends between Praia D. Ana and Praia do Canavial.
