Loulé Concelho Global was the first municipal company in the country to receive certification for the reconciliation of professional, personal and family life.
"According to Portuguese Standard 4552:2016, this certification distinguishes companies and institutions that intend to go beyond what they are legally obliged to do, in terms of reconciling professional and personal life", according to the Câmara de Loulé, which was one of the entities that, in February, signed the Pact for Conciliation as part of “Program 3 in Online – Program for the Conciliation of Professional, Personal and Family Life”.
The certification was awarded by Bureau Veritas, "world leader in conformity assessment and certification and the only entity in Portugal that can issue certification for this standard".
This distinction “reveals that the municipal company with exclusive capital from the Municipality of Loulé has managed to fulfill the necessary requirements in the implementation of a management system for conciliation based on principles and values that aim to raise the well-being, quality of life and general satisfaction of the parties'.
The conciliation pact signed by the Loulé Chamber counts, among its objectives, with «the promotion of a better balance between professional, personal and family life, as a condition for an effective equality between men and women, of well-being, of productivity and for demographic sustainability and for full citizenship, which allows the realization of free choices in all spheres of life, that is, assuming a cultural and organizational change towards the recognition of the reconciliation of professional, personal and family life as a management criterion organizations'.
After the municipal company Loulé Concelho Global, «by the end of this year, the certification of the Municipality of Loulé and the municipal company Infralobo is expected. For 2020, this same orientation will be adopted by the rest of the local business sector».
For those responsible for the Municipality of Loulé, «this distinction rewards the work that has been carried out by the Municipality, together with the four municipal companies, with a view to improving the well-being of its workers and, consequently, their productivity, with clear benefits for the organization itself and for the improvement of the provision of public services and assistance to citizens in our municipality».
