The concert “Diálogos Musicais”, by guitarist Rui Mourinho, accompanied by the Orquestra Clássica do Sul, and the presentation of the latest album by Bruno Pernadas, on June 13, mark the musical program of Teatro Municipal de Faro, this month, after Benjamin Clementine, last Monday, had sold out the room.
Bruno Pernadas will present his latest album “Those Who Throw Objects at Crocodiles Will Be Asked to Retrieve Them”, at 21:30 pm, with full lineup.
The concert “Diálogos Musicais”, scheduled for 19:00, starts the Chamber Music Cycle with the Orquestra Clássica do Sul. Soloist Rui Mourinho «will explore the possibilities of classical guitar in works by Boccherini and Turina, and many others ».
On the 15th of June, the Theater hosts, «in a single night», the new play by Elmano Sancho: Damas da Noite.
In this project, «the actor and director evokes the expectations of his parents around his birth, who were expecting a girl, named Cléopâtre, but a boy, Elmano, was born. In this way, he gives life to another desire for himself, creating a parallel reality and immersing himself in the fascinating and provocative world of transformism», reveals Teatro Municipal de Faro.
In the presentation of the piece, it is written that the transformist artists «wear the skin of another, try to be another (…) they are interpreters of a transformation based on transgression, discomfort, ambiguity, the brutality of bodies and the violence of emotions ».
Dance will also be one of the highlights of Figuras' programming in June, marked with three shows: “Arte em Movimento” by the Urban Xpression Association, this Saturday, the 8th; “Dancing In The World of Magic”, by the Algarve Dance Academy, on 22nd; and the closing show for the 2018-2019 academic year of the Escola da Companhia de Dança do Algarve, on the 29th.
Teatro das Figuras is also a partner in the Açoteia – Faro Rooftop Festival, which takes place between June 20th and 22nd and unites art with sustainability.
