Mathematics explaining app presented at the International Commission

More than 18 thousand students already use this application.

The project milage learn, developed by the University of Algarve (UAlg) and which incorporates an explanatory application of Mathematics, was presented as an innovative practice by the International Monitoring Commission of INcoDe.2030.

The invitation came from the General Directorate of Education. Seomara da Costa Primo Secondary School, Amadora, was chosen to represent the innovative practices developed through this project.

An 11th grade class, accompanied by Professor Francisco Estorninho, hosted a session representing the skills that Milage helps to develop.

The INCoDe.2030 initiative aims, in a broad scope, at the integrated promotion of digital development, starting with digital inclusion and literacy, passing through the education of new generations, from childhood, through the qualification of the active population, to the specialization of people licensed to occupy advanced digital jobs.

The Milage Learning platform works as a kind of math tutor. In addition to exercises, made by teachers, the app has videos explaining the subjects that are taught from the 1st to the 12th grade. And everything is free.

More than 18 students use this application, also available in Spanish, English, Norwegian and Turkish. The General Directorate of Education and the University of Algarve have already established a collaboration protocol to extend the use of the platform to all schools in Portugal.
