Lagoa wine challenges for other experiences until the end of summer

Seven conversations with Senhor Vinho, plus a street full of partying for three days, add new tones to Lagoa's life

«To make the quality wines produced in the region known to local hotels, making them aware of the added value that is the promotion of local products, the identity of our culture, among tourists who visit us» is the objective of a set of initiatives programmed by the Municipality of Lagoa between April 30th and October 31st.

“Lagoa wine sessions” are meetings scheduled at various hotel units in the municipality that invite wine producers, specialists, hotel and tourism professionals, social communicators, and others interested in enjoying Lagoa wine with more informed senses.

The first session took place at the Aqua Hotel Riverside on April 30th. The highlights were the wines from Única – Adega Cooperativa do Algarve.

This Thursday, May 23, it will be the turn of the Morgado do Quintão products, now at Vila Vita Park. On June 13, at Victor's Village, the nectars from Monte do Lobo and Herdade dos Pimentéis will be on the table.

On the 27th of the same month, attention goes to the wines from Quinta dos Santos, at Monte Santo Resort. On the 18th of July, Hotel Lagoa receives the VS Vinhos brand.

On the 10th of September, at the Tivoli Carvoeiro, the conversation is about Quinta dos Vales. On October 2nd, Monte dos Salicos wines are discovered at Pestana Carvoeiro Golf. On the last day of October, it will be time to talk about EDD's at Água Hotels Vale da Lapa.

However, from 20 to 22 June, the Lagoa Wine Show takes place. Summer and wine are celebrated in the street. It is one of the biggest wine events in the south of the country, "where the wine lord arrives accompanied by fado and other well-known songs, by various gastronomic offers, representatives from various regions and wine producers from all over the country", stresses the Lagoon Chamber. Many people gather to celebrate along Rua Coronel Figueiredo, in the center of Lagoa. This will be the 5th edition of the Lagoa Wine Show.

«Wine tourism is one of the priority axes of the municipality's strategy to reinforce Lagoa as a high-quality, differentiating and sustainable tourist destination. It is seen as one of the complementary offers to the sun and beach tourism product, and as one of the ways to overcome the seasonality of tourism in the region», adds the municipality.
