The Mercadinho Intercultural will once again show the arts and flavors of the world on Saturday, from 10:00 am, at the Municipal Market of São Brás de Alportel.
The IX “Intercultural Market: Exhibition of Arts and Flavors of the World” will be the highlight of the Intercultural Fortnight that the City Council of São Brás is promoting and which aims to celebrate the different cultures that intersect in the municipality's territory.
On Saturday, whoever goes to the São Brasense Municipal Market will be able to hear the Portuguese sounds of the youth group “Young Melody”, from the São Brás de Alportel Philharmonic Band, but also enjoy the Eastern European dances and singing, presented by the group Doina ( Romania and Moldova) of Brazilian rhythms, of a capoeira demonstration by the Muzenza group (Brazil), of the African rhythms of Grupo Esperança Kids from Batuqueiras from Cape Verde, and of the European melodies of the Traditional Ukrainian Singing Group “Jasmim”, integrated in the Friends of the Museum Group.
And the North American rhythms of Hip Hop, provided by the group from the Center for Culture and Sports of Workers of the City Council and the Parish Council of São Brás de Alportel, will not even be missing.
In addition to this cultural entertainment program, visitors can count on traditional handicrafts from different corners of the world. There will also be a gastronomic demonstration “Sabores do Mundo”, presented by the restaurant “Maharaja Patiala”, among many other snacks to enjoy.
The event also includes training actions in the area of interculturality aimed at services and the community.
The Intercultural Fortnight is organized by the City Council of São Brás de Alportel through the Local Support Center for the Integration of Migrants and has the participation of the resident foreign community that seeks to make its cultural roots known.
