Pacheco Pereira opened the exhibition «May 68 Revisited» in Lagoa

The show can be seen until the 29th of June

The exhibition «May 68 Revisited», produced by the Ephemera project, by José Pacheco Pereira, opened on the 14th, at the Convento de S. José, in Lagoa.

It was the researcher himself who guided a visit to the exhibition, «the largest held in Portugal on the events of May 1968 and its political influence, on customs, iconography, cinema, music, culture and thought in general».

It results from the merger of two exhibitions held by Ephemera in 2018, one at the Aljube Museum (in collaboration with the Museum) and another at the Mira Forum in Porto, curated by Eglantina Monteiro.

The materials from the two exhibitions, as well as others that could not be included at the time, allow us to occupy three large rooms with original documents from May 1968, posters, records, periodicals (such as Action and Enragè), photographs, and a special section on the Portuguese in France during the events of 1968. A part of the exhibition is about the post-May period, their influence in several countries, and the heritage to this day.

The show can be seen until the 29th of June.
