A Cultural Week Places of Globalization continued yesterday with a program dedicated to the Monchique Trees, which began with the lecture “The Trees are Heritage” and the inauguration of the public sculpture and ended with a beautiful show by Nancy Vieira, in Caldas.
The sculpture, by the young sculptor Rita Pereira, that is, RoMP, represents the monumental araucaria in the garden of the village of Monchique, having been commissioned by the Vicentina association to the artist.
Today, Friday, the 17th of May, the Cultural Week returns to Sagres. «From the Algarve to the Azores, the trip of the Flavors» is the theme of the showcooking at the Fortaleza de Sagres, with the chef André Magalhães, at 19:30 pm (with registrations already sold out).
Then, from 21:30 pm and until 23:00 pm, every half hour, there will be four performances of the show in videomapping purpose-built to be seen on the 80 meter wall of the Fortress of Sagres.
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 18th, it's Silves' turn to host the Cultural Week. Dino D'Santiago will give an intimate and almost exclusive concert for the 150 lucky ones who managed to sign up. It will be at 21 pm, in the small but very beautiful Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório. The capacity is already sold out.
This intense Cultural Week ends on Sunday, May 19, at Aljezur Castle. At 19 pm, the cine-musical performance "Quem Manda Aqui am Eu" by Tiago Pereira and his project A Música Portuguesa a Gostor dela Própria will take place.
And at the end of the week, the walls of the Castle of Aljezur, up there, will be the screen to show the videomapping purpose-produced for this location. As in the other presentations, the four screenings of this multimedia show start at 21:30 pm and last until 23:00 pm, every half hour.
