Mickael Salgado won the Fado Beer Sagres Municipality of Vila do Bispo Contest, whose final was played this Saturday, May 25th, in Barão de São Miguel.
With a full house, the participant from Montemor-o-Velho sang and enchanted those present in the Recreative Society's Ballroom with the fados “Os Loucos” and “Estranha Forma de Vida”. 2nd place was won by Amabélio Pereira (S. Brás Alportel) and 3rd place by Firmino Rodrigues (Lagoa).
In this event, which was attended by the mayors of Vila do Bispo, Lagos and Aljezur, Adelino Soares, Joaquina Matos and José Gonçalves, respectively, Mafalda Vasquez, winner of last year's edition and winner of the youth category, also performed. of this issue Gabriel Fialho.
As for the prizes, the grand winner received a prize of 1300 euros, sponsored by Central de Cervejas e Bebidas, SA and Martinhal Resort Hotel, the second 500 euros, sponsored by NAU Hotel & Resort – Salema Beach Village and Retiro do Pescador restaurant, and the third place received 250 euros, sponsored by the Gigi restaurant.
The night also featured a performance by Kátia Guerreiro.
Organized by the Municipality of Vila do Bispo, this initiative aims to promote and stimulate a taste for Fado, an Intangible Heritage of Humanity, to make new musical talents known, as well as to contribute to the cultural development of the county.
