Admission is free but subject to registration.

“Menina estás à Janela” is the title of the “innovative format event” which will take place on May 18th, in downtown Faro, which will take music, theater and poetry in a script through the most beautiful windows in Faro.

Organized within the scope of the Technical Course on Event Organization of the Pinheiro e Rosa Secondary School (2nd Year students), the initiative consists of a «pedestrian path, in which the windows and balconies of various buildings of recognized architectural and historical value will serve as a stage for some artists from the region».

Along this artistic path, the public will have the opportunity to watch shows ranging from fado to poetry and theatre. The fado singer Cátia Alhandra, the guitarist José Alegre, the poet Rogério Cão, the trumpet ensemble of the Maria Campina Regional Conservatory, will be some of the artists to be present in this cultural initiative, which will cover eight emblematic windows and balconies of downtown Faro.

«Through several partnerships with public, private and associative entities of the city, the event establishes a participative dynamic between the different entities and the community, with the objective of strengthening the artistic, cultural and heritage identity of the city and region and offering it to all those interested a show marked by dynamism and diversity, not only of artistic expressions, but also of scenery», explains the Pinheiro e Rosa Schools Group.

Using windows and balconies of historic buildings also intends to “sensitize society in general to the need to reinforce the urban requalification of downtown faro, as a way to build a more appealing city for residents and visitors».

The event will start at 11:30 am on Saturday, 18th, at the door of Sardinha de Papel (Rua Conselheiro Bivar, 81-83) and will last approximately one hour. Admission is free, but subject to registration via e-mail: [email protected]. Maximum capacity: 50 spectators.
