Summer courses at the University of Algarve are still open.

Registration is open until June 10th

The Summer Courses at the University of the Algarve (UAlg) take place from the 1st to the 5th of July and from the 8th to the 12th of July, with registration now open.

These courses take place in different areas of study: Sciences; Languages and Humanities, Economics, Management and Tourism, Arts and Design, Sports, Engineering and Technology, Health and Entrepreneurship.

According to the UAlg, the courses «are exclusively intended for candidates up to 18 years of age (inclusive), who attend secondary education in Portugal or the same level of education in another country, such as high school in Brazil».

With the main objective of promoting a taste for the various areas of teaching and research at UAlg and helping young people in their vocational choice, this initiative also makes it possible to experience the academic reality in the fields and contact with students and faculty at the Academy.

Teaching and experimental activities take place in the morning. The afternoon is reserved for sports and leisure activities, namely activities such as surfing, Stand Up Paddle, scuba diving, bodyboarding, canoeing, beach games, among others.

Students can choose one of the three available options: the course, with teaching activities in the morning (50 euros), the full day, with a course in the morning, sports activities in the afternoon and two meals a day (100 euros) or the residential regime (190 euros) which promotes the full academic experience and five nights' accommodation in the university residence.

Several municipalities have already joined this initiative, such as Mértola, Alcoutim and Odemira, which have established collaboration protocols with the UAlg, thus encouraging the participation of primary and secondary education students in the Summer Courses.

It is still possible, until June 10, to register for the last available spots. To do so, just click here
