Customers shopping at local businesses in Loulé, as of this month of May, will be offered the first hour of parking at the Loulé Car Park, located next to the Municipal Library building.
The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Association of Merchants, Loulé Concelho Global, as the managing body of the Car Park, and the Municipality of Loulé.
As explained by the City Council of Loulé, «the benefit of the first hour of parking is supported by 50% by the municipal company and 50% by the store where the purchase is made. Each participating merchant will be able to offer the voucher for one hour of free parking depending on the loyalty strategy of their customers».
The municipality recalls that the «Municipal Parking Lot of Loulé was recently renovated, having 259 seats with better safety and accessibility conditions».
The infrastructure “has new technology, such as the sensing of places and access through license plate reading, new lighting, and also several innovations made for a better user experience. This parking silo is very close to several services and many local shops in Loulé, just 5 minutes walk from the city center», highlights the City Council.
This park is open on weekdays, from 8:00 am to 20:00 pm, and on Saturdays, from 8:00 am to 17:00 pm, on the covered floor. On the top floor, it works 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
According to the heads of Loulé Concelho Global, this initiative also aims to reduce traffic in Loulé since 20% of vehicles traveling on the city's central streets are usually vehicles belonging to drivers who are looking for a parking space.

Park users can clarify doubts about the purchase of these vouchers, as well as obtain other information and services (obtaining resident badges, car park signatures, urban transport schedules, among others) at the Loja da Mobilidade service desk, next to the Parking, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 am to 18:30 pm, and on Saturdays, from 9:00 am to
13h30.
