The catalog of the group exhibition «289 – Project by Pedro Cabrita Reis» will be launched tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21st, at 10:15 am, at the Auditorium of Escola Secundária Tomás Cabreira, in Faro. The artist will be present and will speak with the students.
The exhibition was on display at Solar das Pontes de Marchil, outside Faro, between July and September last year. That building, where we have the headquarters of the Associação de Comandos in the Algarve, is now the headquarters and work and exhibition space of the 289 Association.
This show resulted from a project that united the Farense association and the Portuguese plastic artist. In it, more than six dozen artists were represented who «arrived from different times, from dispersed places and equally different wills».
Names as renowned as Julião Sarmento or Pedro Cabrita Reis himself designed pieces for this exhibition, which will now be presented in a catalogue, edited with the support of the Municipality of Faro.
