Quarteira students exhibit chairs and paintings at Mar Shopping

Show will be open until 26th May

“A chair for…” is the name of the exhibition, promoted by the students of the Integrated Education and Training Program (PIEF) of the Laura Ayres Group of Schools, from Quarteira, to be inaugurated on the 11th of May at the Mar shopping centre. Shopping Algarve, in Loulé.

On public display there will be 45 chairs and 15 paintings created by young people, aged between 15 and 18, invited to create something new and exclusive from used and forgotten objects, projecting a second life for them.

Dedicated to promoting the social inclusion of minors through integrated responses, the PIEF (currently operating in the Drª Laura Ayres School Group in Quarteira) favors the fulfillment of compulsory education and the professional certification of young people at risk.

«The association of the shopping center with the work of the PIEF, specifically in promoting the exhibition, is part of the policy of proximity to local institutions and within the scope of the social responsibility actions that we develop – the social, artistic and environmental valorization are messages which we are very happy to associate with», says Herman Gewert, general director of Mar Shopping Algarve.

The show will be open until May 26th.
