Albufeira students show “Colours that paint us” in the Town Hall

Show will run until June 14

“Colors that paint us” is the title of the exhibition of works that students from the Secondary School of Albufeira will exhibit, starting on May 31, in the entrance hall of the Paços do Concelho.

The atrium will be filled with works of art, authored by young people from Albufeira and which, from now on, the majority will head to universities.

This is the most significant work of students from the 11th and 12th grade visual arts classes (classes G and F, respectively), at the Albufeira Secondary School, carried out in the subjects of Drawing A and Arts Workshop, taught by the teachers Idalina de Oliveira and Patrícia Quintino, in the areas of Artistic Installation, Painting, Drawing, Design and Sculpture.

The exhibition aims to take the students' work, developed throughout the year, to the educational community, in order to create a proximity between them.

The Albufeira Poente School Group is committed to a dynamic where collaboration between students and the surrounding community is a vital skill, and where creativity and critical thinking are capital in the formation of individuals capable of facing the challenges of the future, such as the the case of final year students, ready to embrace the professional world», says the Câmara de Albufeira.

The «exhibition reflects the collective and articulated work between the school, students and their guardians, valuing the Arts and Creativity, promoted by the Scientific-Humanistic Course of Visual Arts at ESA».

In all, it is possible to appreciate 24 paintings, several drawings in different sizes, nine models and 19 plaster masks. The opening, at 16:30pm next Friday (May 31st), will feature a moment of Stand Up Comedy, by Tony D.

The exhibition will run until the 14th of June and can be seen from 9:00 am to 17:00 pm.
