Anyone who goes to Portimonense – Marítimo, scheduled for next Saturday, May 11, at 15:30 pm, will go “À Bola para Ajudar”. In this initiative, which has been repeated since 2012, those who donate food and other goods, with a value of at least 5 euros, can exchange them for a ticket for the game.
The collected goods are destined to local social support institutions.
This is an initiative of Portimonense Futebol SAD, together with Teia D'Impulsos – Social, Cultural and Sports Association, which has been repeated annually for 7 years «with a very positive balance».
According to the organization, "the event is intended to carry out a collection of food products, such as rice, pasta, potatoes, milk, biscuits, sugar, flour, sausages, preserves, olive oil and oil, as well as personal hygiene products and food for babies and children, such as: porridge, cereals, milk, diapers and wipes».
The goods raised will be distributed to users of the Social Refectory of the Social and Parish Center of Nossa Senhora do Amparo in Portimão, of the Temporary Shelter Center of Catraia in Portimão, of the Hospital Nucleus of Support for Children and Young People at Risk - Unit of Portimão do Centro University Hospital of the Algarve, of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Alvor and of the Red Cross – Delegation of Portimão.
The exchange of tickets for food and hygiene products has already started this Wednesday and can be carried out at the Portimonense store (Portimão Estádio) until the day of the game, from 10:00 am.
«Thus, we invite all sympathizers to join this solidarity initiative, leaving the members of Portimonense Sporting Clube the same challenge», stresses Teia D'Impulsos.
