VRSA requalifies Estrada da Mata maintenance circuit

Work should be completed next week

The municipality of Vila Real de Santo António has already started the work to rehabilitate the Estrada da Mata running track, in an extension of three kilometers between the VRSA Sports Complex and the Camping Park of Monte Gordo.

The intervention includes the regularization of the floor, the placement and compaction of new wear material and the removal of debris. It also includes the regularization and leveling of the berms, which will translate into an increase in the dimensions of the runway.

The work – carried out both in the northern and southern corridors – is valued at around 3000 euros and should be completed next week.

The works are being carried out by the General Services Nucleus of the VRSA municipality and should also extend to the Avenida das Comunidade Portuguesas lane, with the compaction of the existing floor.

The Estrada da Mata track and maintenance circuit are used daily by hundreds of amateur and professional athletes, many of whom are internships at the Vila Real de Santo António Sports Complex.

This equipment is equally sought after by hundreds of people for the practice of walking and running, given its privileged location within the National Forest of Dunas Litorais de VRSA.
