Four bands compete for the final of the IPDJ “Música Já” contest

The final of the contest will also feature a tribute to Zeca Afonso, starring Mauro Amaral

The bands Mateus Verde, The Black Teddys, Peculiar & Freak and Zebra Sépia will compete in the final of “Música Já – IPDJ Algarve 2019 Modern Music Contest” tomorrow, Saturday, at 21 pm, in the Algarve regional delegation of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and youth, in Faro.

This competition aims to «provide a stage for young people and create conditions for the growth of their projects», according to the IPDJ Algarve, which organizes the event in partnership with the Municipality of Faro, ETIC_Algarve, FNAC Portugal, the Academic Association of the University of Algarve, Rua FM and the Núcleo de Faro of the José Afonso Association.

The competition's prizes “range from presenting to the public at Festival F 2019, welcoming freshmen at AAUAlg, at FNAC, at Fatacil, recording an EP, producing a video clip, as well as including a theme in the program daily of RUA FM and an ETIC_Algarve training voucher».

This event will also pay tribute to Zeca Afonso, 90 years after his birth, with the show “Mauro Amaral plays and sings Zeca”, which will be on stage while the jury is deciding the winner of the competition.
