New Lagoa Conservatory to be installed in the former EB 2,3 School

Current facilities do not have conditions for service users and employees

Lagoa's Civil, Commercial and Land Registry Office will have new facilities in the old EB 2,3 School of the city, next to the new Commercial Court, which started operating on Tuesday and was visited by the Minister of Justice.

In statements to the Sul Informação, Mayor Francisco Martins revealed that «we are in talks with the Ministry of Justice and with the Secretary of State that oversees these issues to transfer the Registry from its current facilities to here, where there is space and better conditions».

During the visit to the part of the old school that now houses the Lagoa Trade Court, minister Francisca van Dunen had already mentioned the availability of the Municipality to collaborate in the resolution of other issues, within the scope of the "virtuous cooperation" between central and local authorities, but without giving details.

It was the mayor Francisco Martins who later explained to our newspaper that this availability has to do with the Conservatória's future installations. “Where this service works now, it has no conditions for those who work there, nor for those who need to use the Registry. There are often people waiting in the street, because there is no space inside”, stressed the mayor.

The Municipality, said Francisco Martins to the Sul Informação, “has already expressed its willingness to give up the right part of the old school to house, with all the conditions, the Conservatory. We even have the projects done, so now it's just a matter of time and articulation». In other words, the Registry Office in Lagoa will soon be neighbor of the new Commercial Court.
