MED renews the Castelo stage and makes it sing in Portuguese

Renovated stage Castelo do Festival will host Portuguese artists with different sounds, ranging from fado to jazz

Márcia, Ricardo Ribeiro, Júlio Pereira, Elisa Rodrigues, Rúben Monteiro and Luís Galrito, accompanied by João Afonso, are the artists who will star in the intimate concerts in Portuguese, which will give life to the renovated Castelo do stage. MED Festival, which will take place from the 27th to the 30th of June, in the historic center of Loulé.

The names of the artists who will bring sounds to Loulé ranging from fado to traditional music, passing through jazz, were presented yesterday, Tuesday, in a session that took place at Café Calcinha, in Loulé.

In addition to reporting on six other names that will be part of the MED 2019 poster, the Câmara de Loulé, which organizes the festival, invited Márcia to be present at the session and star in a showcase in the historic café in the city's historic center.

 

 

A The move from the stage of Castelo da Alcaidaria to Largo Afonso III, next to the walls, is one of the novelties of the 2019 edition of the Loulé world music festival, one of the most awaited events in the Algarve's cultural panorama.

And if the Portuguese contingent at MED 2019 was already well composed – the presence of Dino d'Santiago, Gisela João, Dead Combo and Diabo na Cruz, among others, is confirmed – with the new life of the Castelo stage it is much more strengthened.

The idea of ​​the Câmara de Loulé is to make this stage «a showcase quality music made in Portugal with tourists visiting the city».

In addition to listening to Portuguese music, visitors will also have the opportunity to «appreciate all the wealth of heritage in the Historic Area of ​​Loulé, in particular the Alcaidaria and castle walls, of medieval origin».

The MED 2019 Festival will also feature a novelty to appeal to lovers of the seventh art, Cinema MED , an initiative that will be curated by the critic Rui Tendinha and will bring to Loulé the cinema of the world, namely the film “Gabriel e a Montanha” (Brazil), which will be shown in the castle.
