Loulé attends a “Council (crossed out) of the Gods”

Som Riscado involves several spaces in the city of Loulé in its activities

Concerts, performances, masterclasses, the debate “Council (crossed out) of the Gods” and interactive installations. The 4th edition of Som Riscado – Loulé Music and Image Festival starts this Thursday, April 11th, in an «unparalleled concept in the South of the country». 

This edition brings together leading figures such as Carlos Zíngaro, Vítor Rua, André Tentúgal, João Ricardo de Barros Oliveira (Lixoluxopóetico) and Noiserv (David Santos), as well as the already repeating cultural association Radar 360.º and an artist from the Municipality , the photographer Luís da Cruz.

The debate “Concílio (crossed out) of the Gods” takes place on Thursday, the 11th, at 21 pm, with a solo violin performance by Carlos Zíngaro, artist who will also participate in the debate together with Vítor Rua, André Tentugal, Carlos Lixoluxopóetico and Noiserv.

This initiative takes place at the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceição (opposite the Museum of Loulé) and entry is free, but limited to the space capacity.

For students of arts, music and image, as well as for artists, performers, DJs, among others who are curious and interested, there will be special attention given to training, and various masteclasses on new approaches to sound and music will be given (Vítor Rua) , about image for musical content (André Tentugal) or about audiovisual objects (Chassol).

Thinking about the lovers of experimental music and improvisation, the newest and most daring is planned for the weekend in Portugal, but also abroad, with absolute debuts in the south of the country.

Thus, on Saturday, the 13th, at 21:30 pm, the prestigious French composer and pianist Chassol presents the work “Big Sun” at the Cine-Teatro Louletano and, at 23:30 pm, at the Música Nova Auditorium, there will be a performance by Vítor Rua and The Metaphysical Angels with the acclaimed album “Do Androids Dream Of Electric Guitars?”.

For Sunday, the 14th, and as far as concerts are concerned, there will be a very special project taking place at the Auditorium of Solar da Música Nova. This is a commission from the festival addressed to photographer Luís da Cruz and David Santos (Noiserv) in a dialogue between music and photography in an unprecedented scenic device. This will be the closing event of Som Riscado at 18:00.

With the Cine-Teatro Louletano and the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium as epicenters, Som Riscado involves several spaces in the city of Loulé in its activities, as well as several institutional partners in the municipality and the region, namely: University of Algarve (Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, Research Center in Arts and Communication (CIAC) and Higher School of Education and Communication), Secondary School of Loulé, Secondary School of Quarteira, EB2,3/Secondary School of Bemposta (Portimão) and ETIC_Algarve (Faro).
