The cultural program DiVaM 2019 – Promotion and Enhancement of Monuments, from Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve (DRCAlg), will be presented on Saturday, the 13th, at 16 pm, at Castelo de Aljezur.
This year, DiVaM, a program of dynamization and cultural enjoyment that brings shows to the monuments that are under the responsibility of DRCAlg, will have as its central theme “The Journey”.
Saturday's ceremony – which, in case of adverse weather conditions, will move to the Main Hall of the Town Hall of Aljezur – also includes the opening of the cycle “Artis XXI – Via.gen(E)s”, organized by Elsa Mathei, with the project Viagem de Sons, by XelbInSax Quartet, in an initiative of Associação Artis XXI – Associação de Educação Artística de Lagoa.

The project has students Rodrigo Martins, Diogo Gonçalves, Margarida Milhazes and Artistic Direction by Daniel Marques and the support of Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense.
As for the DiVaM 2019 theme, “The Journey”, it is the motto «for the beginning of a demand for new places, but above all for reflection on some current issues, through a set of cultural and artistic projects open to the general public and aimed at local communities, encouraging their involvement in the heritage process», according to DRACAlg.
"Educational workshops, film sessions and debates, concerts, interdisciplinary projects that integrate music, performance, literature or visual arts, in short, there are many reasons to start this journey", added the Regional Directorate of Culture, which organizes this event together with the City Council of Aljezur.
At the end, there will be a cocktail reception for guests, offered by “Quinta do Barranco Longo”, a partner in the DiVaM program practically since its inception.
The 6th edition of DiVaM will involve 23 cultural associations from the region and several municipalities in the Algarve, namely the municipalities of Aljezur, Vila do Bispo, Portimão, Albufeira, Loulé and Faro.
