CCDR Algarve presents results from the first year of Circular Economy

Presidents of the country's five CCDRs sign the 2019 Protocol

The Algarve Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) presents this Thursday, April 4th, in Torres Vedras, the results of the first year of work within the scope of the regional transition agendas for the Circular Economy.

In addition to the presentation of the results by all the Regional Coordination and Development Commissions, this meeting will also serve to discuss the evolution of this plan with the interest groups present, on the way to formalizing each Regional Agenda.

In the panel “A vision of a Circular Economy in the Regions”, the representation of the Algarve will be ensured by Águas do Algarve, a company that presented its good practices in this domain at the seminar promoted by CCDR Algarve last December, among other companies and institutions.

Finally, the presidents of the five CCDRs signed the 2019 Protocol, to which the Autonomous Region of Madeira joined this year, in the presence of João Pedro Matos Fernandes, Minister of Environment and Energy Transition.

The Action Plan for the Circular Economy provides that the CCDRs will draw up regional agendas with the objective of identifying opportunities for acceleration and transition to a more efficient and sustainable use of resources and reconciling strategies together with the public and private actors of each region.
