The Cataplay performance will arrive, for the first time, in Altura and São Brás de Alportel, today and tomorrow, Friday and Saturday.

Today, the session takes place at the Municipal Market of Altura, in the municipality of Castro Marim, at 18:00. Tomorrow, in São Brás de Alportel, the Municipal Market will also host the show, but at 19 pm.

As always, in addition to a cataplana-inspired theater play, where the history and imagination surrounding this typical Algarve utensil are explored with great humor, the public will be able to taste a cataplana that will be made on the spot by the Tertúlia Algarvia team, which promotes Cataplay, with the support of “365Algarve”.

On stage are the actors Mário Spencer and Tânia Silva, «who play two characters in conflict – the Famous Al-Chef and the Cook Marafada – who discuss among themselves the recipes of life, society, passion or love, at the same time that reflect on the origins of the cataplana, this mysterious and unique tool in the world», according to the organizers of the event.

Tickets for adults, which include the gastronomic experience, vary between 8,5 and 10 euros. Families and groups have a discount. The tickets can be purchased online or on site, on the day of the show, from 17:00.
