Ferreiras' students draw attention to autism

Human Bond brought together about 1000 people at the Nora Stadium

This Wednesday, April 3rd, the Ferreiras Schools Group celebrated the World Autism Awareness Day, forming a human bond that brought together students, teachers, employees and guardians. 

About 1000 people gathered on the football field at Estádio da Nora, in Ferreiras, to form the bond, «symbol of Autism, with different colors representing the diversity of individuals and families who live with the problem».

Professor Victor Ferraz, deputy director of the Group, thanked all the people and entities in the parish who contributed to the success of this event, such as the Parish Council in the acquisition of hats, FC Ferreiras, in providing the field, the Associação de Pais, as well as the GNR who accompanied our students to the event.

The responsible also addressed “a special thanks to all Special Education teachers and employees of the three existing units at the Ferreiras Basic School, who work daily with autistic students, in conjunction with the teachers, whether in their inclusion in the classroom or in individualized work, constituting a great support for the families that deal with this problem».

The inclusion of students from the Autism spectrum, as well as students with other problems. «it must be the guideline of a modern, tolerant and inclusive society, in which everyone has their place, in which everyone is important», says the Schools Group.
