João Neves, Secretary of State for the Economy, will be, this Friday, in the Algarve, where he will visit companies and participate in the opening session of the regional seminar on the departure of the United Kingdom from the European Union, to be held at NERA, in Loulé.
The government official will participate in the Encounters for Competitiveness and Innovation script, an initiative of the Ministry of Economy, promoted in collaboration with IAPMEI.
The visit to the Algarve begins with a visit to the company Águas de Monchique, followed by a meeting with the Intermunicipal Community of the Algarve, in Faro, to present the Challenges and Opportunities of the Region.
The lunch will take place at the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School and, at 14:30 pm, the government official will be at the opening of the seminar “Brexit: Opportunities and Challenges for SMEs”, organized by IAPMEI, AICEP, DGAE, CIP and NERA, in Loulé.
In the afternoon, João Neves will travel to Algardata and Sparos, a spin-off company of the Center for Science of the Sea of the University of Algarve, linked to fish feeding.
The day ends with a visit to the company Necton, which has a business unit for traditional sea salt and another linked to microalgae for aquaculture, aquariums and cosmetics.
The Meetings for Competitiveness and Innovation will travel across the country during 2019, in work sessions with companies and entities from the regional business environment.
The initiative began in 2018, having already passed through the districts of Aveiro, Leiria and Viana do Castelo.
