Sandro William Junqueira wins prize for best children's book

Sandro William Junqueira, a writer who lived in Portimão and has a strong connection with the Algarve, won the prize for best children's book, awarded this Wednesday, March 27, by the Sociedade Portuguesa de Autores (SPA). 

The “Authors Award” was given to the book “The Words that Fugiram from the Dictionary”, released by Sandro William Junqueira in November 2018 and edited by Caminho. The work features illustrations by Richard Câmara.

Born in Umtali, Rhodesia, in 1974, Sandro William Junqueira moved to Portimão in 1986, where he attended the Escola Secundária Poeta António Aleixo.

Since then, it has maintained a connection with the region. Recently, he was the author of the texts of the spectacle Strawberry #1 , integrated in the “Lavrar o Mar”, project of the 365Algarve program.

In this "Authors Award", the Municipality of Faro received the distinction for Best Local Government Programming in the country.
