Natural trails, which will make known «a set of places of exceptional beauty», take place until 25 May, in various places in the municipality of Portimão.
The first tour, entitled “Balconies over the sea”, which will start at Praia do Vau and end at Ponta de João d'Arens, is scheduled for this Saturday, at 9:30 am. This route, which has already been sold out, will cover the «most spectacular section of rocky coast in the municipality of Portimão».
The entire route, which will be guided by the biologist from the Portimão Council, «will be made along the top of cliffs made up of limestone rocks from the Miocene (23 to 5 million years), already quite degraded by sea, rain and rainwater. runoff, as well as by the action of wind and plants, characterized by the reddish hue resulting from the oxidation of limestone», explains the Chamber of Portimão.
The next natural route is already scheduled for the 6th of April, entitled “At the taste of the tide”, and will show the Alvor dune system, while, on the 25th of May, the “A Rocha Delicada” step will be proposed by Laugh at Alvor.
