The Municipality of Silves will honor, on the 4th of April, at 18 pm, the former presidents of Silves Futebol Clube, in a solemn session taking place in the Paços do Concelho.
This tribute comes within the scope of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Silves Futebol Clube.
«The local authority considers the work provided by this community that, throughout its lifetime, formed countless generations of young people and contributed decisively to the dignification of the municipality, promoting the sporting spirit and fostering civic intervention and associativism», considers Rosa Palma, mayor of Silves.
«We could not fail to join the commemorations of this very important date, hoping that this work continues and that all of Silves' members, managers and athletes continue to be spokespeople for a lifestyle guided by respect, determination and overcoming,” he adds.
The autarchy will receive the former presidents of this collectivity (and their families) in the Salão Nobre and current governing bodies, giving them a reminder of the date. Likewise, it is associated with the publication of a work in a book, by Armando Alves, sports journalist, which tells the story of these 100 years of Silves' life.
The presentation of this book will take place at Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório, on April 5th, at 21 pm.
«We leave our sincere congratulations to Silves and we wish that many more years can pass through this community, full of successes and joys, which are also joys for the entire Municipality», concludes Rosa Palma.
