Registration has already opened for the Peddy Paper of Cumeada da Alta Mora, which takes place on April 14, in that location in the municipality of Castro Marim.

This is, according to the City Council, the «peddy paper liveliest and most challenging in the region” and promises “to be a fun adventure through the Algarve mountains”, in an initiative of the Recreational, Cultural and Sports Association of the Friends of Alta Mora (ARCDAA).

The promotion and enhancement of the potential of the endogenous and cultural resources of the parish of Odeleite is the main objective of the initiative, which ends with a social lunch, followed by the delivery of prizes, up to 5th place.

Every year, hundreds of participants join this initiative, which combines sport, culture and leisure, in full contact with nature.

On a 7 km route, the teams are invited to overcome various traditional competitions and games and to test their knowledge of general and local culture.

Enrollment runs until April 11th, and is limited to 40 teams, from 4 to 6 elements. At a cost of 14 euros per participant, registration includes t-shirt, insurance, fluid supply, lunch and souvenirs.

There is also the possibility of doing just the walking tour, for 12 euros.

The race starts at 8:30 am, from the old primary school of Funchosa de Cima. For more information or registration, please use the following contacts: 96 5284657 | [email protected] or consult the website of ARCDA.

The XIV edition of the Peddy Paper “Cumeada de Alta Mora” has the support of the Castro Marim City Council and several companies in the region and with the collaboration of the Center for Culture and Sports of the Staff of the Municipality of Castro Marim (CCD).
