This Sunday, March 3, Avenida Comandante Matoso, in Sagres, became the center of carnival entertainment in the municipality of Vila do Bispo. The parade and the typical games of the time infected everyone and there were even those who disguised themselves as Conan Osiris.
As in previous editions, during the procession there was a competition where the winners received prizes. Thus, the first place in this contest in the group with car category was “Sheep” while the second place was won by the group “Abanicuus”.
As for the group participants without a car, the first and second place were awarded to “Majoretes” and “Scientists”, respectively. At individual level, the first prize was awarded to “Vikings”, the second to “WC Ambulante” and the third to “Carnavalescos”. At the end of the parade, the musical animation was in charge of Emanuel Martins.
According to the organization, the «contest aimed to promote and dynamize carnival traditions in the county, encouraging creativity and imagination and even the spirit of associativism among the community, in a playful recreational activity capable of promoting animation and marking this festive date».
The event, organized by the Clube Recreativo Infante de Sagres, had the support of the Municipality of Vila do Bispo and the Parish Council of Vila de Sagres.
