Young "deputies" from the Algarve already have a meeting scheduled in Faro

District session of the "Youth Parliament" will be attended by 70 deputies elected by students from schools in the Algarve

70 young people Members, elected by students from 14 Secondary Schools in the Algarve, will participate in the district session of Faro of the program “Youth Parliament 2018/2019 – Secondary Education”, which will take place on March 19, at 9:30 am, in the regional directorate of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ), in the Algarve capital.

The “Youth Parliament” “seeks to encourage young people's interest in civic and political participation and emphasize the importance of their contribution to the resolution of issues that affect their individual and collective present and future, making their proposals heard with the bodies of the political power', according to the IPDJ.

This year, the theme approved by the Education Commission of the Assembly of the Republic for editing secondary education is “Climate Change: reversing global warming”.

Students who will participate in the session in Faro were elected by their peers from secondary schools in Albufeira, Loulé, Olhão, Tavira, Quarteira, João de Deus (Faro), Pine and Rose (Faro), Tomás Cabreira (Faro), Manuel Teixeira Gomes (Portimão), Father António Martins de Oliveira (Lagoa) and São Brás de Alportel, as well as the Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura, the Nobel International School Algarve (Lagoa) and the Professional School Cândido Guerreiro, in Alte.

All of them will have the opportunity to defend the measures they consider to be a priority.

In this district session, the draft recommendation of the district of Faro, and elected the young deputies who will represent our district in the National Session of the Youth Parliament – ​​2018/2019, which will be held, in the Assembly of the Republic, on 20 and 21 May 2019.
