In February, Docapesca is going to launch a new tender for the project for the execution of the new wharf for the Maritime-Tourism Boats in Vila Real de Santo António. The guarantee was given by the Ministry of the Sea's office, in response to a question from the PCP about the rehabilitation of the wharf which, according to the communists, is in "such a state of degradation that it threatens to sink."

According to the Ministry of the Sea, after, in July 2018, Docapesca launched a tender for the elaboration of the wharf project, which had no valid proposals, the company "informed that a new procedure will be launched to carry out the respective Execution Project next February».

According to the Government, "the procedure for contracting the construction and installation of the wharf is expected to take place in the second half of 2019".

The work should cost 185 euros, according to the response from the Ministry of the Sea to the PCP.

The Government also recalls that this wharf “was the object of a rehabilitation intervention in 2016, in the amount of 36 thousand euros, so that the safe conditions for the embarkation and disembarkation of passengers could be guaranteed during the construction period of the new Cross-Border Pier'.

Ana Paula Vitorino's office, in response to the communists, also says that, after completion of the cross-border pier, «the embarkation and disembarkation of people and goods at the Wharf of Maritime-Tourism Vessels was interdicted».

To solve the problem created by the Guadiana Transport Company, which uses this pier to moor the boat that travels between Vila Real de Santo António and Ayamonte, Docapesca «informed that it will replace two ladders to access the vessel. in the commercial wharf area of Vila Real de Santo António.
