The show Cataplay continues to tour the Algarve and will bring theater and gastronomy to the delegation of Faro of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, on Friday, February 8th, at 19 pm.

Mário Spencer and Tânia Silva are once again wearing the jackets of the famous Al-Chef da Marafada Cozinheira to provide the public with «a play full of duels, spells and contradictions».

At the end, the public will have the opportunity to taste a dish made in the cataplana by the Tertúlia Algarvia restaurant team, which promotes this event as part of the “365Algarve” program.

“Little or nothing is known about cataplana. The sex, origins or provenance of its creator is unknown. Man or woman? Arabic or Algarve? Chef or cook?”, question the authors of the play.

It is with humor, but also with music and dance, that the two characters seek to answer these questions.

Tickets can be purchased online.

Cataplay is a project promoted by Tertúlia Algarvia with funding from the “365Algarve” Program and support from: A Fera – Associação Cultural, Spencer Productions, Albufeira Town Hall (CM), CM Castro Marim, CM Faro, CM Lagos, CM Loulé, CM Monchique, CM Olhão, CM São Brás de Alportel, CM Tavira, CM Vila do Bispo, CM Vila Real Santo António, IPDJ Faro, Sul Informação, RUA FM, Mercearia Bio, Quinta da Tôr and ACTA – The Algarve Theater Company.
