The III Mostra Silves Capital da Laranja, which takes place in Silves between 15 and 17 February, will feature RTP's “Aqui Portugal” program, product presentations and a “Laranjinha Kids” space.
The program “Aqui Portugal”, which will be broadcast from Silves, on February 16th, will be presented by Hélder Reis, Joana Teles and Catarina Camacho. This is a program that «occupies the Saturday afternoons of the public television station and is seen all over the world, through RTP Internacional and RTP Play», explains Câmara de Silves.
With a fixed broadcasting space at Castelo de Silves – a situation that is happening for the first time in terms of television broadcasts – and live reports from the III Mostra Silves, capital of Laranja, «spectators will be able to follow and discover the best of Silves it has something to offer, whether in terms of culture and heritage, or in terms of gastronomy, wines, handicrafts and other topics», adds the municipality.
The broadcast will have two parts: one that starts at 11:00 am and ends at 13:00 pm and the other that will start at 16:15 pm and will last until 20:00 pm.
RTP's visit to Silves «is directly related to the holding of the III Mostra Silves Capital da Laranja and to the municipality's desire to promote its territory and products».
Also on February 16, at 14:30 pm, the III Mostra Silves Capital da Laranja will host, at the Fissul Auditorium, presentations of products, made by companies participating in the event, and which, «in this way, will be able to make known themes and products of the greatest importance to citrus growers», highlights the Câmara de Silves.
The first of these presentations will be on “Measures to support farmers within the scope of the ADERE 2020/PDR 2020 Local Action Group”, being given by Carlos Albano and Artur Mourinho, from the Vicentina Association.
“Biostimulants and Vegetal Nutrition in Citrus Fruits” will be the next theme, with Emilio Peris, who represents Life|Sulscala.
The presentations end with Lopo de Carvalho, from Aquagri, who will address “Cases of study in Citrus Irrigation Management”.
The younger ones will also be entitled to a space at the Mostra Silves Capital da Laranja, during the three days of the event. “Laranjinha Kids” is a service that “will provide young visitors with the opportunity to participate in educational and playful activities of very diverse plastic and artistic expression, always linked to oranges”, explains the Silves Chamber.
The activities will be accompanied by technicians from the municipality «bringing the reading of stories, painting, molding and games to this space, which is another offer of this event for the whole family to visit».
The “Laranjinha Kids” space will be open on the 15th and 16th, between 10:30 am and 22:00 pm, and on the 17th, between 11:00 am and 17:00 pm.
