"Aquaquiz" alerts to environmental issues in a playful way

To mark the launch of the game, until May 17 a national competition will take place.

Environmental education can be more fun with the new game “Aquaquiz”, launched this Friday, February 1st, which will reward students, teachers and schools across the country.

This new educational game was designed to be played by students of the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic Education in a classroom environment, in the “Virtual Board” format and is accessible here

The quiz is composed of questions related to different dimensions of water, with two levels of difficulty, covering subjects from the syllabus of the two teaching cycles, grouped into four categories: Blue Planet, Aqua Lab, Water Factories and Efficient Use.

To mark the launch of the game, until May 17, a national competition will take place that will reward students, teachers and schools from all over the country.

In addition to the virtual board, which can be played by groups of two to five players, the game is available in a mobile application (app) for smartphone (iOS e Android) to be played in a “Battle” format between two players.

Aquaquiz is free and can also be played in a family environment or with friends, either on the virtual board or in battle format.

Funded by the Environmental Fund of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Transition under the National Strategy for Environmental Education, the game is one of the tools made available by companies in the Águas de Portugal Group to teachers and educational communities in order to support the development of participatory teaching practices , creative and dynamic that promote the value of water in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Also in this context, we highlight some of the most recent actions developed by Águas do Algarve within the scope of its environmental education programme, such as the young water project or the “Me, Tu e a Água” Valentine's Day campaign.

To these is added the piece "A Faucet in the Forehead", the “Kick Plastics Out of the Oceans” initiative or the International Water Challenges Meeting, which took place last year.
