Political movement asks for a solution that allows crossing the IC27 safely

"This is a situation that deserves an urgent solution, because human lives are at stake"

The Christian Democratic Movement of Lower Guadiana (MDCBG) wants a solution that will allow pedestrians to “cross the IC27 safely” in the Odeleite area.

In a statement, the MDCBG says that «barring pedestrian crossings, through a central separator and protection network, has not had the desired effect, and this fact can be explained by the lack of safe alternatives for the population and the tourists visiting Odeleite can access the other side of the IC27», where the river beach will be built.

Therefore, to do so, people have to cross the road, “putting their lives and that of others in danger, and reports of dangerous situations are almost daily”. In 2018, incidentally, one person died in that area of the IC27.

For these facts, the Christian Democratic Movement of Baixo Guadiana says it is "in solidarity with the struggle of the people of Odeleite who, for a long time, have been asking for a solution to this problem."

"Enough. We are not available to perpetuate the problem. This is a situation that deserves an urgent solution, because human lives are at stake,” says Victor Hugo Palma, MDCBG.
