The Castro Marim Schools Group will host the “Emergency 4 Kids” Project, developed by the Municipal Civil Protection Service during the 2018/19 school year.

The protocol was signed this Friday, January 4, between the Municipality and the Group, represented by the mayor Francisco Amaral and José Nunes, director of the Castro Marim School Group.

The “Emergency 4 Kids” is a first aid course for children, whose ultimate goal is to increase the chances of survival of victims in the emergency home.

"This training is based on the result of a study, carried out in Germany, which found that 10-year-old children are able to learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation and that, at the same time, training in pediatric age reduces anxiety and the fear of making mistakes", he says. the Chamber of Castro Marim.

The course is aimed at a universe of around 150 students, from the 4th, 5th and 9th grades and starts during the month of January.

«The “Emergency 4 Kids” will allow these children to acquire skills that will allow them to behave appropriately and quickly in an emergency situation, demonstrate safe attitudes in the event of a disaster as well as awaken to an active safety in their daily lives».

According to Francisco Amaral, physician and mayor of Castro Marim, "human life is priceless and these learnings can really save lives."
