Câmara de Lagos gives 58 euros for cultural events and animal welfare

The money will be distributed by the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, the Clube Desportivo de Odiáxere and the Cadela Carlota association

The Câmara de Lagos will allocate 58 euros to support events that will be promoted by cultural associations in the municipality and initiatives aimed at animal welfare.

The Clube Desportivo de Odiáxere will receive 30 euros in financial support for the realization of the Carnival of Odiáxere 2019, a carnival celebration that marks its 25th anniversary this year, «presenting two parades of floats, a first, on March 3rd , more dedicated to children, and the second on March 5th, Carnival Tuesday.

«Once again, and within the framework of the twinning existing between the municipalities of Lagos and Torres Vedras, Odiáxere will count on the support of one of the oldest and most famous metropolises of carnival celebrations in our country, receiving some equipment for loan on loan. visually enrich the parades of floats», according to the City Council of Lagos.

The Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve will also receive a grant, in this case, of 26 euros, to help organize the Algarve Jazz Gourmet Moments, taking place at the Centro Cultural de Lagos from 24 to 25 May.

This festival is part of the “365Algarve” program and counts, “from the start”, with the partnership of the local authority, “in logistical terms, as well as with the attribution of financial support”.

«Different, but equally important, application will have the approximately 2 euros that the City Council decided to allocate to Cadela Carlota, which will allow the aforementioned non-profit association to promote the extermination of private facilities where it houses abandoned dogs and cats, guaranteeing , thus, both the welfare of the animals that are in their care, as well as public health», according to the City Council of Lagos.
