The municipal company Ambiolhão is going to promote a general disinfestation campaign against rats and cockroaches in different parts of the county, starting tomorrow and until the 8th of February.
Deratization and disposal actions “will mainly focus on the network of public collectors and urban waste disposal sites,” according to the Chamber of Olhão.
Taking into account that Ambiolhão "only performs the disinfestation of public areas", the action will not focus "in areas of private domain, such as lots under construction, vacant houses, or private land", warned the autarchy.
«In the case of interventions against rats, and given the toxicity of the baits, it is not possible to apply them on the ground. The baits are only applied inside the sewage networks, to avoid accidents with children or pets”, added the Chamber of Olhão.

"Owners of commercial spaces, houses and managers of condominium companies will be able to coordinate the disinfestation of their respective properties for the same periods, in order to improve the effectiveness of treatments, both in private and public areas", concluded the Chamber of Olhão.
