The Alcoutim Chamber will support the municipality's students and schools, during 2019, on several fronts, including transport, meals and financial support for the most needy students.
According to the Alcouteneja municipality, transport will be guaranteed, «both for study visits and daily transport, within the municipality», but also the payment of the «total pass for students attending secondary education in neighboring municipalities».
With regard to food, around 50 thousand euros will be invested to guarantee lunch for all children attending the kindergartens and schools in the municipality.
There will also be direct support for students, starting with a monthly grant of 100 euros, aimed at needy students who attend secondary and higher education.
Those who attend Secondary and Vocational Education also receive support, in this case 70 euros. Children and young people who attend Basic Education (from the 1st to the 3rd cycle) and "who may apply for assistance", receive 60 euros. Finally, students from Technological Specialization Courses and Higher Professional Technical Course receive 300 euros.
Other support measures are the offer of the Virtual School to all students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles of the Alcoutim Schools Group, the payment of attendance at the English Academy (Da Vinci Education Gyms) to students who attend the 3rd cycle of basic education and help in the acquisition of teaching material, in this case, "a collective economic aid in the amount of 2000 euros for students from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycles attending schools in the county".
With this support, the Chamber of Alcoutim aims to promote «equal opportunities in access to knowledge».
